My Goal(s) for HNGi8 Internship!!!
Hello, my beautiful people on the Internet. How's that code you're writing going? long pause. . . Ahh, yess. I thought as much. Well, how about we take a break, aye?
First off, I'll like to introduce myself on this space. My name is Israel Abraham, most people call me Israel. And those who have evolved to gods call me Abram. I am a passionate self-taught python web developer and a freelance software engineer from Africa/Nigeria 🇳🇬.
My passion for software lies with dreaming up ideas and making them come true by translating them into elegant interfaces. I enjoy coding, testing, and deployment of websites, web applications and the code quality of the amazing things I build.
This post isn't going to be about me, or how I ventured into tech at the age of 2! It's about a very interesting internship that was introduced to me by ZuriTraining. The internship is called "The HNG Internship".
Here's a little description of what it's about: "The HNG Internship is an ambitious attempt to change the way education is done in Africa. It’s the bridge between learning to code, and becoming the best in the world."
Pretty interesting, right? That's not all. The HNG internship is a 3-month remote internship designed to find and develop the most talented software developers.Everyone is welcome to participate (there is no entrance exam). Anyone can log into the internship using their laptop. Each week, we give tasks. Those who complete them advance forward. We pay the interns weekly.The intern coders are introduced to complex programming frameworks, and get to work on real world software. The finalists are connected to the best companies in the tech ecosystem and get full time jobs and contracts immediately. Phew, that should be all.
What do I tend to achieve in these 8 weeks?
- Go beyond my present self.
- Connect with more like-mind people.
- Know how go work under pressure.
- Learn how to work as a team, collaborate;
- Advance my programming skills.
Yup! That's pretty everything I want to achieve in these 8 weeks of training, really.
Conclusion
Ahhh. Yesss. That is all, for now. This is my first time publishing on the wonderful space. In the upcoming week(s), I'll be uploading articles based on Django, Django Rest Framework, Python, Django PWA, etc.
Here are tutorials that helped me on my journey;
