It’s always exciting to discover a blockchain platform that welcomes everyone, regardless of your profession — technical or non-technical. My experience with Base lately has been absolutely “basome” (sorry, I’m already basified!). I want to share this with you so we can make a real impact together.
Base has the potential to bring people from all walks of life together, and I’m not here to bombard you with technical jargon. Sounds cool, right? Join the movement with me — whoola!
What is Base?
Base is a Layer 2 (L2) solution built on Ethereum blockchain. It helps make transactions faster, cheaper, and more efficient on the Ethereum network. One of its main goals is to simplify financial transactions and open global opportunities for everyone.
Why Choose Base?
Base is for everyone, whether you are a developer or not. You don’t need to be a tech guru to come on board in the Base ecosystem. If you are a creator, you can share your talents and earn money through the Base Rounds rewards system. Being a creator on Base means you can be anything — like a writer, video creator, artist, or musician.
For example, Base creators can upload content without paying fees on onchain platforms like Zora where people can mint their work as NFTs.
The Base movement is focused on bringing builders and creators onchain and promoting a community where everyone can showcase their work and own their creations and data.
How to Get Started on Base
If you want to get started on Base,
- Explore the platform by visiting the Base website to learn about its features.
- Download your Coinbase wallet and signup
- Go to the Base website to get a Base name. This will require you to pay some Ethereum. Also, ensure that you connect your Coinbase wallet.
Note: The longer your Base name, the less Ethereum you will pay
Your Basename should look like this .base.eth
- Download the Warpcast application on your device to join the Base channel. Warpcast is a decentralized social media platform like Twitter, now known as X. Here, you can meet other Base creators, users, builders, and a supportive community.
Note: Creating your Warpcast will require you to pay an onchain fee of five dollars.
Overall, Base is more than just a platform; it’s a movement that encourages creativity, freedom, inclusivity, and innovation. Everyone is welcome to join and participate!
